STORY
Founded in 1997 by Brian McDonald, MAC Group began as an acrylic fabrication part-time venture. Two years later, Brian took his dream full-time specializing in acrylic finished parts for the aircraft industry. In 2000, Brian and Deanna McDonald purchased property and built their own 2200 sq. ft shop to broaden the plan of developing MAC Group into a regional player in custom fabrication. This spawned the partnership between MAC Group and Rapid Refill Ink to prototype and service the development of a recycling container system.
In 2002, growth continued with the purchase of a small engraving business. This acquisition allowed MAC Group to gain access to a broader customer base and increase capabilities to existing clients. Shortly after in 2003, all production and offices were moved to a single 7500 sq. ft warehouse-facility in Springfield. The print department of the company expanded as well with the acquisition of a large flat-bed, solvent printer. This machine put MAC Group on the map by expanding into large-format banner printing, trade show displays, and fleet graphics. The creative department was also born in this process by hiring a handful of graphic artists to work in collaboration with both the print and fabrication departments.
In 2006, the company grew again with the acquisition of two highly-anticipated capabilities; CNC routing and water jet cutting technologies. Within two years, MAC Group purchased the interests and skill of an applied graphics company local to the Eugene/Springfield area, which further enhanced the display products and quality. Throughout the next nine years, MAC Group experienced steady growth. In 2015, MAC Group moved from Springfield to a large facility in Eugene. This location is the current location of the five departments: print, fabrication, design, apparel and wayfinding and is home to the many capabilities MAC Group has to offer.
